Shoulder Internal Rotation Mobilization with Movement
Restoring shoulder internal rotation range of motion to get the hand behind the back can be a frustrating task working with anyone that is post-surgical, but also with athletes demonstrating an internal rotation deficit. This mobilization with movement works great in these situations, and beats stretching behind the back with a towel any day. . . .

Anterior Containment Taping
The anterior containment taping is a functional taping technique discussed in Gray's taping DVD and manual. It will often work really well on that person with an anterior humeral glide syndrome and/or a hot bicep tendon, but the main indication for use is less pain and/or ROM with a posterior glide to the humeral head. . . .

Restoring the Cervical Flexion Pattern
These videos are a result of a conversation that Kyle Kiesel and I had about a year ago in which he asked me if I had seen this: correct cervical flexion then go back and re-check the toe touch and it should improve. I'll admit I had never thought of it so of course I went back to the clinic and started playing with it. The problem I have in the clinic is there is never enough time to grab another PT to video the treatment, or I don't think about it until after the fact. So anyway, at the recent internship in Evansville, we made time to see if we could get fellow instructor Mike Lehr to touch his toes. . . .

Interview with Dr. Kevin Jardine - Creator of SpiderTech Kinesiology Taping
Kevin is the creator of SpiderTech kinesiology taping and discusses the history of kinesiology taping, what sets SpiderTech apart from the rest, as well as some taping strategies to influence micro-circulation, structural taping, and neuro-sensory taping. We also got into a lengthy discussion of the future of taping and the ability to tap into the body's 'software'. Technically the interview was over but I was still recording. So with Kevin's permission I included the 'off the record' discussion as he had some great thoughts on this. . . .

Interview with Jackie Shakar and Dr. Larry McCracken - Graston Technique, ART, and more
We've had a number of forum posts lately on different manual techniques and systems with great responses from Jackie and Larry so I wanted to get them on here to give us more details on their use of these techniques in the clinic. They talk about their experiences with different instrumented techniques and how they've both settled on the Graston Technique; ART and the FAKTR-PM program, how they both incorporate manual therapy into their practices, as well as a couple case studies. . . .

Anterior Femoral Glide Syndrome
Marc Heller DC Here's a good one from SRE member Dr. Heller looking at Anterior Femoral Glide Syndrome and the role of the psoas (I doubt its what you were taught in school). Some good food for thought plus a few subtle techniques to train the psoas as a stabilizer. . . .

Hip Flexion Mobilization in 4 Point
This one comes to us courtesy of David O'Sullivan in response to the Multi-Segmental Flexion article I put up last week. I thought this was a great idea to get hip flexion in a loaded position. Check out the forum post, the video is in there too, but wanted to make sure everyone got a chance to check it out. . . .

Soft Tissue Technique of the Week - Deep Cervical Flexors
Patrick Ward MS, LMT, CSCS Instead of an exercise of the week I'm going to go with Patrick's 'soft tissue technique of the week'. Patrick does a great job demonstrating and explaining his technique for the deep cervical flexor group on his patient, Carson Boddicker. Maybe Carson pulled a muscle doing all those interviews for the upcoming Sports Rehab Expert podcast :) . . .
