Interview with Dr. Kevin Jardine - Creator of SpiderTech Kinesiology Taping Kevin is the creator of SpiderTech kinesiology taping and discusses the history of kinesiology taping, what sets SpiderTech apart from the rest, as well as some taping strategies to influence micro-circulation, structural taping, and neuro-sensory taping. We also got into a lengthy discussion of the future of taping and the ability to tap into the body's 'software'. Technically the interview was over but I was still recording. Exercises of the Week - Lateral Fascia Stretch and the FMS 'Hard Roll' This week's videos come via Dr. Perry Nickelston who's got all kinds of great videos on YouTube and Facebook. Dr. Perry sent me over his foam roller stretch for the lateral line (from Thomas Myers' book - Anatomy Trains) which is a great way to lengthen through the lateral hip, QL, ribcage, and entire shoulder girdle simultaneously. SFMA - Multi-Segmental Extension Corrective Exercises This month I'll be posting the corrections for the Multi-Segmental Extension pattern, a.k.a. the back bend, from the SFMA. What we're looking for is the mobility and stability through the ankles, hips, spine, and shoulders to perform a backward bend without pain, right to left asymmetry, or over exertion.
