Trent Nessler: Ice Perform - Wearable Sensor Technology
As technology continues to evolve and become an ever more used tool in both rehabilitation and performance. It's important to remain up to date on the different technology that is available to us to utilize in the profession. But more importantly, it's necessary to keep an eye on the "if" and "how" the extra data/information can be useful.
Part of the reason which I am excited for this interview is that prior to this technology being available it made it very cumbersome and unnatural to track biomechanics in a research or data analytics standpoint. As a result we resorted to more subjective views or data created in a "lab" type atmosphere.
Listen to the interview here to see how these new wearable sensors may be starting to bridge the gap better between "lab movement" and "real life movement".
Trent and I also discuss in depth the process which he utilizes for ACL Injury Prevention Programs and how he uses these wearable sensors to get quick, reliable, and meaningful information back in large scale team assessments.
Enjoy!
